Alternatively, do some research in your area as some parks and public places will only charge a nominal fee in anything at all.

4. Ask a family member to cater food and select something where a little goes a long way like curry or pasta
5. Buy bridesmaids dresses off the rack from Macy’s or JC Penney. Bridesmaids may even be willing to purchase their own dresses if it is something they can wear again
6. Make a strictly family only rule for the guestlist and stick to it – a destination wedding can be a great way on cutting down numbers
7. Ask a friend with a flare for hair and make-up to take care of that department
8. Photographer… I’d like to say find a friend or family member, but this is one place if you have a little extra money I recommend getting a great photographer – you will not regret it as the photos will be wonderful life-time memories.
9. Do not serve alcohol. This can become very expensive, but you may like to put a bottle of champagne on each table for toasts and a large bowl of punch where guests can help themselves.
10. Think of having someone you know make the cake or try it yourself. Decorating with fresh flowers and ribbon is a cost effective technique which looks beautiful.
